SPACE and The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust presents LOCHER + LOCHER, an exhibition of over 80+ works and hours of unseen VHS videos from siblings Brandon Locher and Olivia Locher. The Locher siblings were born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Brandon in 1985 and Olivia in 1990. Olivia moved to Manhattan in 2009 to pursue a BFA in Photography at The School of Visual Arts. Brandon and Olivia have shared an apartment in Manhattan since 2015 and closely observe, oversee, and assist with one another's work and practices. Olivia's colorful studio photographs are confrontational and often hilarious while raising a more serious point about politics and social conventions. While Brandon's monochromatic drawings each display a unique approach and convolution in their intricacies. This marks the Locher's debut solo exhibition showcasing their individual works paired together, side by side.

In 2007 Brandon Locher co-founded My Idea of Fun, an art and music archive based in Johnstown, Pennsylvania that features over 350 releases, including a vast collection of over 100 of his own individual music and visual art projects, as well as other collaborations. Brandon is self-taught without any formal art education and in 2012 began working on his ongoing drawing portfolio Mazes to the Motherlode, that is largely represented in this exhibition. Since 2014 Brandon has collaborated with the independent record label Ghostly International on various products and limited edition art prints. His music and visual art has been profiled in publications such as Vice, Hi-Fructose Magazing, AdHoc, i-D, Instagram Music Blog, and Tiny Mix Tapes. His time-based audio piece Conversations is available on UbuWeb, a web-based resource of avant-garde material founded in 1996 by Kenneth Goldsmith and was exhibited at Griesbadgalerie, Ulm, Germany in 2016.
