The classical myth of Pygmalion and Galetea runs deep in the history of both art and love. An isolated sculptor creates a beautiful statue mirroring unconscious amorous passions so heated that they ignite her, endowing her with life. In contemporary culture, such myths take a technological form as they have been created in an era when pouring one’s heart out to a computer is a norm. Can We Fall in Love with a Machine? is an exhibition that poses a question to a group of artists who responded by creating virtual beings capable not only of reflecting our amorous desires but also of emoting in return. With guest curator, Claudia Hart.
