SHOW TITLE: Summer Party Mix: Pivotal Videos You've Always Wanted to See
ARTIST: Nam June Paik, Ant Farm, William Wegman, Chris Burden, Cory Arcangel, Mary Lucier
CURATOR: Murray Horne

Juxtaposing seminal videos of the 1970s avant garde with contemporary video work by today’s emerging and established artists, Summer Party Mix re-contextualizes the way we see art while providing a historical background for new media. Pivotal performance and video works by artists such as Nam June Paik, Ant Farm, William Wegman, and Chris Burden are featured in flux with rising stars Cory Arcangel and Mary Lucier, to name a few. Gallery visitors are invited to select from a variety of DVDs, to watch the video works at their own pace and in their own personal sequence. The narrative of the art experience is then determined individually, rather than prescribed by a curatorial hand.
