And, The Lord Spoke
And, The Lord Spoke
Photographs by Jacob Pesci and Curated by Sean Beauford, And, The Lord Spoke is a photographic essay exploring themes of American life from the past 8 years and the war being waged on the human soul through social division, police brutality, global wars, climate change, gentrification, broken relationships, and communities. In his first solo exhibition artist Jacob Pesci looks to the resilience of the human spirit and the presence of God as a guide and anchor towards deeper growth, love, sacrifice, justice, and human connection.
About Jacob Pesci
Jacob Pesci is a practicing photographer, artist, and educator. Heavily influenced by his experiences with isolation, violence, connection, and love; as well as his time as a combat medic in the US Navy, Jacob's studio practice focuses on themes surrounding the human condition and personal relationships. Through the mediums of film photography, print, and bookmaking, his work aims to visualize memories and emotions to understand the nature of identity; while finding healing and awareness, of the body, the spirit, and the world we inhabit.
Working with young people as an arts educator, he finds his skills and passion intersect in the classroom, inspiring and collaborating with future generations to guide loving, creative, and confident humans.
Fighting for truth and justice, equality and inclusion; his work focuses on developing social and emotional intelligence through creative exploration to impact the world for the better and create opportunity, freedom, and prosperity for all.
